Helping Compeer Reach Rural Communities

Compeer Financial, a lending institution dedicated to rural America, challenged Boombox with developing a program that engaged consumers, highlighted the brand’s commitment to serving rural communities, and generated qualified leads among prospective homebuyers, as well as hobby farmers and recreational land owners​.

Built off the findings from a consumer insights study conducted by our sister agency, Bovitz Inc., Boombox created the Community Café, a hyper-local, 24-stop tour. ​We sourced, negotiated, and contracted community events and locales to activate across South East Wisconsin, including fairs and festivals, farmers markets, and local retailers.

The 6-week Community Café tour treated guests to free ice cream and coffee sourced from local vendors. As part of a lead generation and re-marketing effort, consumers were also offered a chance to win $3,000 towards a home improvement project in exchange for contact information.

In addition to Boombox-hired staff, who were trained in the Compeer product offerings and brand efforts, local Compeer reps were on-site to engage with consumers. Boombox also concepted and produced a piece of original content highlighting the positive impact Compeer and its owners have had on rural communities. We then distributed that media across Compeer’s social and digital channels, as well as local media.

Finally, Boombox and Compeer coordinated gifts of community appreciation to the fire departments in each of the counties in which the program activated, generating additional local PR coverage.​
