Building on Sacramento’s Message of Diverse LGBTQ+ Inclusivity

After the success of Visit Sacramento’s “Unapologetically Queer, Unapologetically Sacramento” campaign, Visit Sac and Boombox teamed up to build on and elevate the city’s message of inclusivity.

“Unapologetically Sacramento” invited local LGBTQ+ people to define how they lived authentically every day, so our 2024 “Find Your People” campaign focused not just on individual expression, but on community building. This playful video series showed that LGBTQ+ people can find whoever their people are—party people, funny people, artsy people—and allowed us to spotlight some of the special places and businesses that make Sacramento such a welcoming place.

Boombox wrote, storyboarded, directed, and produced “Find Your People” in collaboration with Sacramento talent agencies and studios, who helped us to authenticate our messaging and to cultivate a broader network of inclusive messaging. Find Your People’s diverse cast brings us into the heart of Sacramento by highlighting places like queer nightlife hotspots, minority-owned businesses, outdoor attractions, LGBTQ+ sports leagues, and much more. The videos were filmed in both Spanish and English to allow further reach and accessibility for our message of inclusivity.

Most importantly, both our “Unapologetic” and “Find Your People” campaigns redefine what LGBTQ-marketing can and should be: diverse, people-centered, and full of heart.
