Powering Up the Snickers Charged Campaign with Buzz and Bites

Snickers Charged, a limited-edition energy bar, was looking to energize the market and needed a marketing partner to match. Boombox rose to the challenge with a campaign that defied gravity—literally.

Boombox’s mission was to create a multi-faceted campaign that would generate awareness, excitement, and sales among young adults aged 18-24, a demographic known for their boundless energy and adventurous spirit.

The centerpiece of the campaign was the aptly named “Snickers Charged Anti-Gravity Tour,” a series of high-octane events that took place on college campuses across the nation. Boombox brought in the renowned aerial performance troupe AntiGravity to deliver mind-blowing halftime shows that left audiences in awe.

To drive trial, we incorporated mass sampling into every tour stop, offering attendees a chance to experience the taste of Snickers Charged for themselves. We also sweetened the deal with BOGO coupons.

The campaign wasn’t confined to the halftime shows. Boombox ensured brand presence throughout the campuses with complimentary PA announcements and videoboard promotions that kept Snickers Charged top-of-mind. We even added a layer of fun with a “lucky section giveaway” promotion and with AntiGravity performances in college quads and key retail locations.

By combining high-energy entertainment, strategic sampling, and targeted messaging, we were able to generate significant awareness for the new Snickers product and surpass our campaign goal of distributing 470,000 samples.
