As people stepped up to the lamppost, we encouraged them to choose a new magnet for their photo so we could make sure everyone knows there’s a place for them to belong in New Orleans. We also reminded guests to tag their posts with #everyoneswelcomehere and @visitneworleans so we could generate engagement through shares and reposts.
At each event, we also ran a sweepstakes for a trip to New Orleans, which included airfare, a hotel stay, gift cards for dinners and activities, and much more. These signups allowed us to significantly grow our LGBTQ+ newsletter database.
